This luxury villa is one of a number of villas for rent on Monte de los Almendros an exclusive hillside residential area located on the coast south of the magnificent city of Granada and which has a reputation for being the location of many of the finest properties in the area and most visitors agree that they have among the best views they have ever seen.

Monte de los Almendros

The hillside is well organised and well maintained by a dedicated staff. The roads up the hill provide easy access to the villas other essential items such as water and electricity are reliable as the infrastructure has been steadily improved in recent years.

Villa Pradomar is located less than a five minute walk from the community pool and tennis courts.
The communal area of Monte de los Almendros is rarely busy but features a large swimming pool (measuring about 19 meters ?) as well as a smaller, shallow children’s pool, as well as slides, swings, see-saw. For the more active there is also a tennis court as well as a five a side football area and basketball hoop, often in the summer there are table tennis facilities close to the pool and. The area close to the pool also has its own wifi connection (if you enquire at the administration office they will provide details on how to access it). Also in the summer months a small kiosk is opened up to serve drinks and ice cream.

The entrance to the pool and tennis court area is controlled by a magnetic swipe card which when used should electronically open the electronic lock on the wrought iron gates. Close to the pool there is also parking.

If you are interested in purchasing a property in the area then you should speak with Salobrena Villas (also known as Lingwood Salobrena) and old established estate agency that specialises in properties on Monte de los Almendros and close to Salobrena.

Vacation Rentals Near Granada

Monday, August 9th, 2010

The Costa Tropical is a popular destination for visitors looking for accommodation near Granada, Spain’s most historic city which is located below the Sierra Nevada mountains in Andalusia in the south of Spain. It is about 70km from the coast and with a new motorway (2009) linking the coast with Granada the city is now within just 40 minutes of the coast which means that vacation rentals near Granada can now be enjoyed all year round in Salobrena, which is the closest seaside town to the city and which has a climate which is much better than that found around  Granada.

Alhambra GranadaGranada is home to the world famous Alhambra Palace which is Spain’s second most popular tourist attraction (after El Prado in Madrid) and which recently received worldwide coverage when Michelle Obama (and other members of President Obama’s family) visited it. The Alhambra is one of the most photographed sites in Spain and is a Moorish palace and monument to the Arabs who occupied this area of Europe for Centuries. It is well worth the visit if you can get a ticket and is considered by some to be one of the 10 wonders of the world. It consists of gardens, fortifications and palaces.

Close by is the Albaicin, the old Arabic quarter located on the hill opposite the Alhambra. It is characterised by cobble stoned streets with white washed houses. The Mirador de San Nicolas provides an excellent view.

Granada

In the center of Granada which for many months of the year has the snowy backdrop of the Sierra Nevada you will still find many old buildings particularly around the Cathedral.

If you visit the city do be prepared for the temperature to be quite different from the coast / Costa Tropical, with temperatures below zero some days in winter and in summer they can rise to over 40 degrees – while the micro-climate around Salobrena keeps winter temperatures at an average maximum of around 18 degrees Celcius and in the summer typically below 30 degrees Celsius

It is among just a few places in the world where you can ski in the morning and be eating lunch in shorts and T shirt on the beach later by 2PM.

Please note that during the peak tourist times it is essential to book tickets ahead of time to avoid being disappointed – to reserve your tickets on line you can use servicaixa a service run by La Caixa bank – click here

Spanish Holiday Villas – Villa Holidays in Spain

Spanish Holiday Villas – Spanish Villa Holidays the advantages.

JacuzziWe have lived in Spain for over 8 years, enjoying the traditional atmosphere away from the high density resorts, have a look at the description our Spanish villa rental for information about our 3 bedroom villa with (salt water) pool and jacuzzi on the coast in southern Spain.

Despite the economic issues facing Europe, Spain remains exceedingly popular with holiday makers who enjoy the sun and travel there each year to hotels, apartments and Spanish holiday villa rentals, however, with so many options now available as a result of the widespread use of the internet, it is easy to forget the advantages of villa holidays in Spain.

Spain is one of the world’s most popular tourist destinations for a number of reasons. Firstly, Spain is close to the UK and the rest of northern Europe, even the south of Spain is just a two hour flight and the area of the Costa Tropical has two international airports within an hour’s drive (Malaga and Granada). Unlike other international destinations such as Florida and Brazil it is possible to go for a quick week-long break to the sunny southern Spanish coasts whatever time of the year.

Spain has more to offer than just crowded beaches and package holidays in overdeveloped areas. While some areas are heavily promoted and attract mass tourism there still remain some relatively undeveloped and natural areas such as the Costa Tropical which boasts kilometers of coastline and no package tourism.

In addition there are a large variety of Spanish holiday villa rental options for all tastes and budgets. Whether someone wants a small isolated property or a large luxury villa close to international marinas there is something for everyone.

Spain enjoys a wonderful climate, in fact on the Costa Tropical you will find the warmest winters in mainland Europe. The climate in this region is a sub tropical micro-climate allowing tropical fruits such as mangos to be grown.

Spain provides a stable environment and culture. While some areas of the world such as Thailand may provide beautiful holiday villas and colourful culture there can be issues to do with political stability which need to be taken into account.

If safety is important then compared to many exotic international destinations Spain is relatively free of crime. It is still typical in the quieter towns and smaller communities, such as Salobrena, for young children to be allowed to play safely outdoors even at midnight.

Holiday villas in Spain can also provide an economic holiday solution with cheap flights and the possibility of families sharing larger villas and preparing their own meals to avoid the accummulating costs of eating out each day.

It’s time to rediscover Spain.
